About the Patient Participation Group

We would like to know how we can improve our service to you and how you perceive our surgery and staff.

To help us with this, we have set up two groups so that you can have your say: a Patient Participation Group (PPG) and a "virtual" Patient Representative Group (PRG).

The aims of both the the PPG and PRG are to strengthen the relationship between you the patient and Kingsfield Medical Centre (The Practice) and to assist the Practice in continuing to improve its provision of healthcare whilst ensuring that patients are at the heart of decision making.

The Patient Participation Group (PPG), which meets with practice staff regularly, is here to:

Be a Patient Voice

  • Provide ways for patients to give feedback and comments to the Practice
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Practice website
  • Contribute to a Patient Newsletter/ Information Sheet and Notice Board
  • Support the Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection process

Challenge & Support: help the Practice to improve service delivery

  • Find ways to keep improving the patient experience and to support staff
  • Monitor the provision of a safe, risk-free environment at KMC
  • Review patient-targeted material

Assist in the promotion of better healthcare & treatment, for example:

  • Provide information to promote self-care and understanding of long term health conditions
  • Raise awareness of and access to other care and support agencies
  • Encourage communication of public health messages

There is a suggestion box in the Reception area where you can leave comments for the PPG or you can send a message via our secure online form

We will ask the members of the PPG some questions from time to time, such as what you think about our opening times or the quality of the care or service you received. The group will also ask us questions and make suggestions.

Join our Patient Participation Group

We aim to gather patients from as broad a spectrum as possible to get a truly representative sample. We still need young people, people with long term conditions and people from a range of ethnic groups to join the PPG.

The Patient Representative Group (PRG) provided another way for patients and the Practice to communicate, by e-mail. It does not involve meetings and has been set up to provide opportunities for a more representative and diverse sample of patients to be contacted by the Practice from time to time to consult and seek your views.

If you are happy for us to contact you occasionally by email and if you would like to join the "virtual" Patient Representative Group, please click on the link below to open the sign-up form and complete the fields.
